Junk Removal for Clarksville Homes
Clarksville has been adding people fast: about 188,800 residents in the 2025 estimate, up 13% since the 2020 count. Its housing is young, with a median build year of 1997. That means most junk calls here aren't about a hundred-year-old attic. They're ordinary turnover: a family moving to or from post, a garage that quietly filled up over ten years, a sofa that didn't survive the dog. Each job below has its own price drivers, and they're worth knowing before anyone shows up with a truck.

House and Estate Cleanouts
A whole-house cleanout clears everything you aren't keeping: furniture, kitchen goods, closets, the shed, sometimes the carpet. For an estate, the family usually walks through first and tags what stays, what goes to relatives and what can be donated. The rest goes on the truck. Junk Luggers, a national franchise, says a full garage, basement or estate cleanout takes half a day or more, and sometimes a second trip. Ask for a price per load, so a second truck doesn't come as a surprise.
See House Cleanouts in Clarksville for a room-by-room plan, or estate cleanouts when probate and family sorting set the pace.

Hoarder House Cleanup
A hoarding cleanup goes slower than a normal cleanout, and it should, because someone has to sort as the crew works. Papers, photos, cash and keepsakes turn up in boxes that look like trash. The crew needs gloves, contractor bags and often masks for dust. Ask whether the hauler will sort on site and set aside documents for you to check, or haul everything as-is, and price it that way. Be clear with them about pests, mold or rotten food before they quote. Those change the safety gear and the time, and an honest description up front keeps the price from jumping on the day.
See Hoarder Cleanup in Clarksville for how crews sort, bag and protect the things worth keeping.

Garage, Basement and Attic Cleanouts
Garages collect the heaviest mixed junk on the property, the mower that stopped starting in 2019 sitting next to a grill, shelving, scrap lumber and a rowing machine nobody rows. A partial garage or a single room takes a crew 1 to 2 hours. Attics and basements cost more in labor because everything comes up or down stairs. Angi says difficult access like stairs and tight hallways pushes labor toward the top of its $100 to $300 range. Set aside paint and household chemicals before the crew arrives: wet paint and hazardous waste don't go on the truck (more on that below).
See garage cleanouts, and the basement and attic page for stair carries and old insulation.

Furniture and Couch Removal
Couches, sectionals, recliners, dressers, entertainment centers, bed frames and dining sets make up most single-item calls. Angi puts couch removal at $100 to $200. Measure the stairwell before you call: a sectional that has to be cut to get out takes longer. Clean, unbroken pieces can often be donated instead of dumped. Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee takes furniture at most locations but refuses sleeper sofas and anything broken, damaged or stained.
See Furniture Removal in Clarksville, or couch removal for sectionals, sleepers and recliners.

Mattress and Box Spring Removal
Mattresses are floppy, heavy and miserable to tie down in a pickup, and you can't donate them: Goodwill won't take mattresses or box springs at all. Bi-County Solid Waste charges $10 each for mattresses and box springs. It takes them only at the main landfill on Dover Road, and only in cash or check. That fee is why haulers often list a mattress surcharge. Angi puts mattress removal at $75 to $150. Bi-County's $10 fee applies to each mattress and each box spring, so ask whether the quote prices them separately.
See Mattress Removal in Clarksville for recycling options and bed bug precautions.

Appliance and Refrigerator Removal
Washers, dryers, stoves, dishwashers and water heaters are mostly metal, so ask whether the hauler takes them to a scrap recycler. Refrigerators, freezers and window air conditioners are different because of the refrigerant. EPA rules under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act make the last stop in the disposal chain, such as the scrap recycler or landfill, responsible for making sure the refrigerant is recovered. Bi-County charges $10 per Freon appliance. HireAHelper lists Freon appliance fees of $50 to $150. Angi puts refrigerator removal at $50 to $150 and a washing machine at $75 to $150.
See appliance removal for washers, dryers and water heaters, and refrigerator removal for fridges, freezers and window units.

Hot Tub and Spa Removal
An old hot tub rarely leaves in one piece. The crew shuts off and disconnects the power (or asks you to have an electrician do it), drains the tub, then cuts the shell and frame into sections that fit through the gate and onto the truck. Angi puts hot tub removal at $200 to $600. A tub sunk into a deck, or one reached only through a narrow side yard, costs more than one sitting on a pad by the driveway. The concrete pad usually stays unless you ask for it to go.
See Hot Tub Removal in Clarksville for draining, cutting and what happens to the pad.
Piano and Exercise Equipment Removal
Pianos and home gym gear are heavy, top-heavy and easy to damage a floor with. Angi puts piano removal at $200 to $400. Treadmills, ellipticals and weight machines are bulky, so measure the doorways they'll pass through. Tell the hauler about stairs and the make of the machine when you ask for a price.
Pianos have their own page; treadmills, ellipticals and weight sets are on exercise equipment removal.

Shed, Deck and Fence Removal
Tear-down jobs mean demolition plus hauling: an old shed, a rotted deck, a run of fence or a playset. The debris counts as construction waste, so it goes to one of Bi-County's construction and demolition landfills, such as the one at St. Bethlehem on Guthrie Highway, not the household landfill. Ask whether the price covers pulling posts and footings or only what's above ground, and whether the hauler leaves the site raked clean. Deck boards and fence pickets carry nails and screws, so a good crew sweeps the yard with a magnet before leaving.
See shed removal, deck removal or fence removal, which also covers calling Tennessee 811 before posts come out.

Yard Waste and Brush Removal
The City Street Department picks up normal yard waste free for city residents, but only during its spring and fall cleanups. In 2026 those ran March 23 to May 1 and October 5 to October 31. It takes grass clippings, leaves and limbs. Stumps and limbs from topped or commercially cut trees aren't included. Outside those windows, or for a big pile of storm limbs, a hauler loads it by volume like any other junk. Brush is light but bulky. A pile that looks like an hour of work can fill half a truck.
See Yard Waste Removal in Clarksville for brush piles, leaf bags and storm limbs.

Construction and Renovation Debris Removal
Remodels leave drywall, old cabinets, countertops, tile, carpet and pad, and framing scraps. A truck that hauls this goes to a construction and demolition landfill. Bi-County adds a $100 surcharge for shingle trailers of 5 yards or more, which is why roofing tear-off is usually priced separately. Debris is heavy for its size, and tile and plaster especially. Ask whether the quote has a weight limit per load.
See construction debris removal, plus carpet removal if the floors are coming up too.
TV, Electronics and Tire Disposal
Tube TVs, monitors, printers and old computers are the items people get stuck with. Goodwill takes flat-screen TVs but not tube TVs. Bi-County takes electronics, free for most items, according to the county's recycling page. Tires can't go in any Tennessee landfill whole. State law makes every county run a tire collection site, and for Montgomery County that's Bi-County on Dover Road. Haulers that take tires typically add $5 to $15 each.
Old screens and computers: TV and electronics disposal. Tires: tire disposal. Metal that isn't an appliance: scrap metal pickup.
Commercial Junk Removal in Clarksville
Businesses need the same hauling, usually against a deadline, whether that's a unit turned between tenants or a job site cleared before the final walk-through.
Landlords and Property Managers
Tenant move-outs and evictions leave furniture, bagged trash and appliances behind. A hauler who can come within a day or two of the keys coming back shortens the time a unit sits empty. Ask for photos of the emptied unit for your records, and an invoice that lists the address.
See Eviction and Foreclosure Cleanouts for Tennessee's notice and abandoned-property rules.
Realtors and Foreclosure Cleanouts
Agents and banks clearing a listing need it emptied to broom-clean before photos. Foreclosure cleanouts often mean a full house of belongings with no owner on site, so agree in writing on who can authorize removal.
Office Furniture Removal and Office Cleanouts
Desks, cubicle panels, filing cabinets and chairs come apart and leave in volume. Shred or remove anything with client records before the crew arrives. A junk hauler moves cabinets, not the paper inside them.
See office furniture removal, or commercial junk removal for retail, restaurant and warehouse jobs.
Contractors and Job-Site Debris
Small contractors use a junk hauler instead of a dumpster when the job is short or the driveway can't take a roll-off. The debris goes to a construction and demolition landfill. Bi-County charges commercial demolition loads at its current gate rates.
Contractors can check the construction debris page for what goes in a load.
Storage Unit Cleanouts
Units get emptied when rent goes unpaid, an estate is settled or a move ends. Most facilities want the unit swept and the lock removed by a set date, so give the hauler that deadline when you book.
See Storage Unit Cleanouts in Clarksville for lien sales, deadlines and what facilities expect.
Specialty Junk Removal Services
Fort Campbell PCS Move-Out Cleanouts
A PCS move puts a hard date on everything. Fort Campbell housing residents file a 30-day notice to vacate, then pass a final inspection against a standard charge sheet. The movers ship only what's under your weight allowance, and you pay for every pound over it. Under the October 2026 Joint Travel Regulations, allowances run 9,000 pounds for an E-5 with dependents and 13,000 for an E-7, and planners estimate about 1,000 pounds per room. Overages can cost several hundred to several thousand dollars. Hauling off the broken patio set and the extra couch before the movers weigh anything is often cheaper than shipping it.
See PCS Move-Out Junk Removal for the current weight table and the housing charge sheet.
Same-Day and Next-Day Junk Pickup
National franchises advertise same-day service. Booking same day can cost more, and HireAHelper lists same-day pickup among the possible add-on fees. Call early in the day and describe the pile clearly: a few items fit in around other jobs, while a full house usually needs a scheduled day.
Downsizing Help for Seniors
Downsizing from a family house to an apartment or assisted living is a cleanout on a timeline, and it's rarely only about furniture. Plan a sort day before the haul day, and let family claim items first. Ask for a crew that will carry from any room, so nobody has to drag boxes to the garage.
See Junk Removal for Seniors for planning a downsizing move with family.
Donation Pickup and Drop-Off
Usable furniture and appliances can go to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 404 Madison Street, which sells new and gently used furniture, appliances and building materials. Goodwill takes furniture and flat-screen TVs in good shape. Some haulers drop donations off on the way to the landfill. Ask, and ask for a receipt if you want one for taxes.
See Furniture Donation Pickup for what the ReStore and charities will and won't collect.
Storm Debris and Fallen Tree Cleanup
After a storm, the limbs, broken fence panels and soaked carpet all need to go at once. A hauler takes cut limbs and debris by volume. A tree still standing or hung up on a roof is a tree-service job first.
Storm limbs are covered on the yard waste page.
Above-Ground Pool and Swing Set Removal
Above-ground pools come down in a few hours: drain, cut the liner, unbolt the wall and rails, haul the steel and the liner. Wooden swing sets come apart with a drill and a saw. Ask whether the price includes filling the sand or leveling the spot where the pool sat.
See above-ground pool removal, or swing set removal for playsets and trampolines.

Why Clarksville Junk Haulers
One hauler per request
Your request goes to one independent local hauler, not a list of companies who'll all call at once.
A price before anything is loaded
Haulers price on site once they see the pile. Get that number before anything is loaded; national franchises describe their on-site quotes as no-obligation.
No charge for the referral
The call and the form are free. You only pay the hauler for the job you agree to.
How Junk Removal Works
STEP 01
Call or send the form
Tell us what's going and where it is: rough size of the pile, stairs, and anything heavy like a hot tub or piano. Photos help.
STEP 02
Get a firm price on site
The crew arrives (crews usually call or text 15 to 30 minutes ahead), looks at the pile and gives an all-in price. A photo or phone estimate is a guide, not a firm number.
STEP 03
Loading and sweep-up
If you say yes, they load right then. Most jobs take 20 minutes to 3 hours.
STEP 04
Pay when the job is done
You pay once the truck is loaded. The junk goes to donation, recycling or the landfill.
Junk Removal Prices in Clarksville
Nobody publishes Clarksville-only price data, so these are Angi's 2026 national ranges for a 20-yard truck. Expect a local quote to land in or near them.
| Load size | Volume | Typical price |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum or single item | One bulky piece | $60 to $150 |
| 1/8 load | 2 to 3 cubic yards | $75 to $125 |
| 1/4 load | 3 to 4.5 cubic yards | $125 to $200 |
| 1/2 load | 4.5 to 11 cubic yards | $200 to $400 |
| 3/4 load | 11 to 13 cubic yards | $400 to $600 |
| Full load | 13 to 17 cubic yards | $600 to $800 |
Many haulers bill at least 1/8 of a truck. HomeGuide figures one full junk truck at about four pickup-truck loads.
Surcharges come on top: Freon appliances, mattresses, tires and electronics often carry a fee each, because the hauler pays to dispose of them. Stairs, long carries and weight add labor, and a rush job may cost a little more. Ask that the quote cover loading, disposal, taxes and travel, so the number you hear is the number you pay.
Doing it yourself is cheaper in cash. Montgomery County households already pay a $5 monthly fee that covers loads up to 500 pounds at Bi-County. Above that it's $20 a load up to 1,000 pounds, $30 up to 2,500 pounds and $48 a ton past that, plus $10 per mattress or Freon appliance. The catch is the truck or trailer, the lifting, and the drive out to Dover Road.
What Haulers Won't Take, and Where It Goes in Montgomery County
Bi-County Solid Waste Management runs the landfill at 3212 Dover Road for Montgomery County, Stewart County and Fort Campbell. It has one household landfill and two for construction and demolition debris. Most of what a junk truck carries ends up there, at a scrap yard or at a charity. A few things don't go on the truck at all:
Paint
Wet latex paint is illegal in Tennessee landfills. Dry it with kitty litter or sawdust and it can go in the trash. Oil-based paint is household hazardous waste.Chemicals
Solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals and automotive fluids go to the state's free mobile hazardous waste collection, which held its 2026 Montgomery County stop on September 26.Whole tires in the trash
They go to the county tire site at Bi-County.
