Swing Set and Playset Types

Wooden Playsets
The cedar or pressure-treated playset with a fort, a slide, a rock wall and a swing beam is the big one. It was assembled from hundreds of bolts and lag screws, and after years outside many of them are rusted. Crews take it apart where the bolts cooperate and cut where they don't. The plastic slide, the canopy and the swings come off first, then the beam and the fort frame come down in sections. Ask what happens to a set that is still sound: the national pickup service quoted at the top of this page says it sends usable wooden sets to reuse when local options allow, and a local hauler may know a buyer.
Metal A-Frame Swing Sets
Tube-steel swing sets are light and come apart in minutes once the legs are unbolted, or get cut with a reciprocating saw if the hardware has seized. The tubing is scrap steel. Check whether the legs were anchored with corkscrew stakes or concrete; stakes twist out, concrete doesn't.

Trampolines
A trampoline breaks down into a steel ring, legs, springs, a mat and a net. The springs are under tension and are pulled with a spring tool before the frame can come apart. The bent steel goes for scrap, and the mat and net go to the landfill. The national pickup service mentioned above starts trampolines at $195, ahead of its swing set price. Ask whether the price includes the anchor kit if the legs were staked down against wind.
Plastic Play Structures and Playhouses
Molded plastic climbers, toddler slides and playhouses are bulky but light. Most come apart with a screwdriver into a few big panels. They make a small pickup on their own or ride along with a bigger load.

Why Clarksville homeowners call Clarksville Junk Haulers
- Your request goes to one local hauler, not a call list
- Ask for the all-in price before anything is loaded
- Free to call; you pay only the hauler, for the job you agree to
- Tell us about stairs, heavy items or a deadline up front
Swing Set Removal: Do the Teardown or Pay for It
Taking a wooden playset apart yourself takes a free afternoon, a drill, a socket set and a saw for the bolts that won't turn. If you stack the pieces at the curb, you are paying only for a pickup, which falls in the single-item range shown on the main page. If the set is still standing, ask for the teardown to be priced in, and point out anything set in concrete. Footers that have to be dug out mean excavation, and the Tennessee 811 notice rule on the fence removal page applies.

Check for wasps
Hollow beams, fort roofs and the underside of slides are favorite nest spots by late summer.Decide on the ground cover
Mulch, pea gravel or rubber chips under the set stay unless you ask for them to go.Offer it first
A sound wooden playset can find a new family through a neighborhood group, and they may take it down for free.Save the hardware question
If the set is going to someone else, ask the crew to bag the bolts instead of cutting them.
See above-ground pool removal if the pool is going in the same backyard cleanup.
